About me

Hello everyone!

To those who have stumbled across my page, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Alex Niemeyer.

Since I was very young, I was interested in 2 things, video games and music. Going on 28 years as of writing this, not much has changed.

I started out writing my own music when I was in middle school, making songs on various free digital workstations, just making music I thought sounded good (at the time). This has led me to pursue a degree at the University of Oregon, where I studied under Jeffrey Stolet, and graduated (class of 2019) with a bachelor’s in Music with a concentration in technology.

After graduating, things however didn’t go to plan. I don’t need to rehash what happened in 2020, but I will say it set me back both emotionally and career wise. This is the reason why my work output in my portfolio is a little bare during this time. I did what I had to do during this time to survive.

Good news is that I am back to take my career in new directions. I am currently in pursuit of a career in the audio field, and specifically in game audio. I have a strong foundation from my time at university, and building upon my skills with Wwise and Unreal.

This website will be a showcase of my work past, present, and future. It will also serve as a place to write down my thoughts and process in my work; think of it like a behind the scenes.

Thank you so much for taking a look! I hope you join me on my journey to get into this exciting field. Feel free also to say hello by clicking the contact me button. Hope to hear from you soon!
