Hello everyone! This will be a more informal post than usual as I look to wrap up this year. First a couple of tiny updates.
Social Media
I now have a link to my Bluesky account on this website. I’ve ultimately decided that since changing my name on various platforms, I think it would be safe to share my account on my personal website. I will keep to mostly posting about gaming and audio related stuff on there. It will also be a place where I post smaller updates and things that won’t fit into the longer format I’ve opted for on my personal website. You can follow the link on my home page or here to get to my bsky page. Unlike other platforms I’ve been a part of, I want to keep bsky semi-professional and treat it more of an opportunity to network. So even though I may post opinions of the wider world around me from time to time, I will try and not be too spicy about it, unlike my past social media accounts.
Smaller Music Projects
So, I need to make a confession, the past couple of weeks since I wrapped up my VRC world project has not really been productive at all. Part of it is due to mental health, in the sense that I look around me and see other sound projects and feeling like I will never measure up. The other part is that things are winding down around me due to the holiday season. For these reasons, I’ve decided to work this week and next week on smaller improvement things. The first improvement thing is the social media link thing, and the second thing is reading manuals of my various audio tools and brushing up on music theory. I’ve even purchased a keyboard stand to start playing more music again!
I felt like I’ve spent so much time lately focusing on sound design, that I’ve neglected my music composition side of things. So as opportunities to work on bigger projects become less practical because of the holidays, this will be a perfect time to do these smaller improvement, learning projects.
Holiday Wrap Up
I want to finish off this post by wishing everyone a merry holiday season! This will be my last post on this website for the 2024 year. It’s been a roller coaster of a year in my personal life. I never would’ve thought I would have the courage to quit my day job to pursue this dream of mine. I am so grateful to everyone who has stopped by this site or followed me along the journey. I am also very grateful to the countless people I’ve been able to meet in the months since going down this path. The future for me, to be honest, is quite shaky, but I also see a bright light on the horizon. I really never knew how much my life was being sucked away doing menial work I had no passion in until I took the leap of faith to go for it. Next year I’m looking forward to broadening my horizons and continue to develop my skills. I’m ready to see where this vehicle stops next in 2025!
One last thing before I go, I figured since this is a music and gaming related site, It would be fun for me to list my top 3 favorite games and music of the year!
